BMC Now Offering Online Appointment Scheduling Through ZocDoc
Boston – July 21, 2014 – Boston Medical Center (BMC) is introducing a new service for its patients, providing them the option of online appointment scheduling. The service is currently available for physicians within general internal medicine, family medicine, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, obstetrics & gynecology, otolaryngology and dermatology, and in the coming months, the hospital will be adding additional physicians, specialties and appointment times.
This service is powered by ZocDoc – a company with a mission of improving healthcare access, which is made possible through strategic partnerships with organizations like BMC.
“Our goal at BMC is to keep our patients healthy and ensure they have timely access to our physicians and services,” said Joe Camillus, Vice President of Ambulatory Operations & Professional Services at BMC. “We understand the time constraints placed on our patients and their families and ZocDoc is another tool that we can use to improve patient access as well as patient experience.”
Patients can access online physician profiles and appointment scheduling by going to www.bmc.org and clicking on the “Book Online” orange button. This same button can be accessed on individual department pages. Patients can then see schedules for physicians, along with qualifications, patient reviews, photos and more tools to help patients choose the practitioner who best fits their needs. Patients simply select a timeslot and complete a brief checkout process to book an appointment. Patients will receive email and text message appointment reminders for added convenience. BMC continues to make patient experience a priority, and this new system enables the flexibility to access physician profiles and appointments at any time, even when the office is closed.
