Geriatrics

For Older Patients

The Geriatric Section's Clinical Program is known as Boston University Geriatric Services. As geriatrics specialists, we understand your needs and concerns as an older adult, and we will help you preserve the greatest degree of independence possible.

Integrated Model of Care and Case Management
Because the health needs of older adults are complex, we offer a comprehensive, coordinated team approach to care. Our team of professionals, which includes doctors, nurse case managers, nurse practitioners and social workers, has the geriatrics skills and experience to meet your primary care needs. We manage and coordinate the care you need across settings - in our ambulatory practice, your home, selected nursing homes, or while you are a patient in the hospital - and you remain in our practice even when you transition from one site to another. We also collaborate with other health care providers such as nurses, physical and occupational therapists, local visiting nurse associations as well as other community service agencies. If an emergency arises when our offices are closed, one of our doctors is always available by phone.

Since we are part of Boston Medical Center, all of our patients have access to a comprehensive range of advanced specialty services as well as inpatient care on our geriatrics medicine service.
