Ramon Bonegio, M.D.

...is an attending physician in the Renal Section of the Department of Medicine at the Boston Medical Center. Dr Bonegio received his medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa then completed internship at the Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto and registrarship in Internal Medicine at the Johannesburg General Hospital. He trained in nephrology at the Boston Medical Center and after completing his fellowship, stayed on to join the faculty in 2006.
Dr Bonegio clinical interests include the treatment of glomerular diseases, chronic kidney disease, and renal replacement therapy. His research aims to understand the pathogenesis of glomerular disease and renal fibrosis. He has co-authored several book chapters and authored multiple research articles. He has presented at several international and national nephrology conferences.
