Minority Recruitment Program

Boston, Massachusetts
Boston is a vibrant city located on the Atlantic Ocean, 4 hours north of New York City. Boston features beautiful, historic neighborhoods, combined with some of the most prestigious and academic institutions in the country. Boston is known as the "Medical Mecca," with three prestigious medical schools located within a 5-mile radius of one another.
Our population is rapidly changing, and we are now a “majority minority” city, with 24% of our residents being African American/Black and 14% Hispanic/Latino. Our residents include immigrants from the Islands, Africa, and all of Latin America. Boston’s restaurants, small businesses and neighborhood festivals reflect this wealth of diversity.
Boston is a very livable city. Much of downtown is walkable, and we have excellent public transportation; it is not necessary to have a car to live here. Parks and public spaces abound, including the "Emerald Necklace" designed by renowned urban landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead.
The City of Boston offers a wealth of cultural, educational, and athletic events to enjoy. On weekends it is easy to get to Cape Cod or Martha's Vineyard, and New York is just a few hours away, as is the stunning autumn foliage of Vermont, New Hampshire and the Berkshires.
Come see Boston for yourself!
