Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility

We provide a full range of diagnostic services and treatment options for reproductive endocrinology disorders such as infertility, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), amenorrhea, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, fibroids, hirsutism, recurrent pregnancy loss, and müllerian anomalies.

Types of reproductive surgery we offer include laparoscopic tubal reconstruction, laparoscopic tubal ligation reversal, hysteroscopic lysis of uterine adhesions and hysteroscopic correction of uterine malformations. Fertility preservation consultations are also available for patients preparing to undergo gonadotoxic chemotherapy and/or pelvic radiation therapy. Patients requiring assisted reproductive technologies are treated in collaboration with two in vitro fertilization centers in the Boston area: the Reproductive Science Center and the Fertility Center of New England.

Oncology

The Gynecologic Oncology program at Boston Medical Center offers comprehensive cancer treatment using a multidisciplinary approach. We offer state of the art treatment modalities in a caring and personalized environment. The patients benefit from the expertise of a highly experienced, interdisciplinary treatment team including Gynecologic Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Specialized Oncology Nurses and Social Workers. This team is dedicated to providing the best care while recognizing and helping with the emotional and social aspects of a cancer diagnosis. The Gynecologic Oncologists have expertise in treating many types of female pelvic cancers including cancers of the ovary, uterus, cervix, vulva and trophoblast (placenta). We also have specialized training and offer a wide range of surgical treatments ranging from tumor removal to minimal invasive techniques using the Da Vinci Robotics system. Boston Medical Center also offers a multitude of support services for patients and their families.

Urogynecology

Several members of our department have expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. Diagnostic testing includes urodynamics and office cystoscopy. We offer a wide range of medical and surgical options to treat these disorders.

Family Planning

We provide complete family planning services including contraceptive counseling, options counseling and termination of pregnancy. Our staff of registered nurses, nurse practitioners and physicians are all trained and highly specialized in the area of contraception and options counseling. Our termination options include medical, out-patient surgical and induction services. Our out-patient surgical suite is able to provide efficient care in a private setting with well trained and supportive staff members. We offer the most up to date contraception options including intrauterine devices, hormonal implants, and injectable methods and are able to take care of patients with medical complications and special needs.
