Tony Tannoury, M.D.
Assistant Professor
Tony Tannoury, M.D. is Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Boston University. A graduate among the top 5% of his class at Lebanese University, he completed his residency at Georgetown University Medical Center and a fellowship for Spine Surgery at the University of Virginia. His practice scope is all aspects of degenerative as well as traumatic spinal disorders, specifically the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He has served as faculty at UVA until he went to West Virginia in order to receive his working visa. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Medical Association, and the Georgetown University Alumni Association. His awards include first prize of the 1981 Annual Science Competition in Bekka County, Lebanon as well as ranking first in the Baccalaureate exam in 1983. He has published several journal articles and book chapters. He has been guest speaker for several national and international meetings as well as Grand Round presentations. He is also the design surgeon for the minimally invasive spine system distributed by Depuy Spine, a Johnson & Johnson company.
