Training of Professionals

SIDS Center staff train emergency medical professionals, hospital emergency personnel, medical examiners and social service personnel about infant mortality. The Center provides training, consultation and professional support for nurses who provide home visiting and bereavement support for affected families. In an effort to provide optimum support to families, the Massachusetts SIDS Center has developed outreach activities to professionals as part of its overall case management.

Through the development and implementation of training and educational programs for health professionals and community groups, the Center is able to address the need for SIDS information and guidance in supporting families.
