Boston Medical Center's Social Work Department provides counseling and supportive services
to patients and their families who are presented with co-morbid problems such as:
- Addictions/substance abuse behaviors
- Difficulty coping with and adjusting with chronic, catastrophic, or terminal illness
- Emotional problems
- Family problems
- Mental illness
- Social problems, i.e. abuse/neglect, domestic violence, homelessness, community violence, social isolation/poor support systems, poverty, etc.
