Biography

"Dr. Seshadri is a leading expert in risk factor and genomic epidemiologic studies of Stroke, Alzheimer’s disease and Brain Aging. She has received research grant support from the NIH/NIA as PI and joint PI on multiple R01s and is a key investigator at The Framingham Heart Study and in several international genetic collaborations.

Dr. Seshadri also is an excellent teacher and mentor. She has played a key role in Neurology resident and medical student teaching and received the Resident Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2006 and 2007. Dr. Seshadri has been invited to participate as a speaker and expert at many national and international symposia. She serves on the Editorial Boards of the journals Neurology, Stroke and Journal of Alzheimer Disease and also serves on the NIH NAME (Neurological, Aging and Musculoskeletal Epidemiology) Study Section."

                      by Dean Antman

In 2013, Dr. Seshadri was awarded the Jack Spivack Excellence in Neurosciences Research Award at Boston University to recognize the research of outstanding faculty members at Boston University School of Medicine who are conducting either clinical or basic neurosciences research in Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy or other neurological disorders.
