John M. Kofi Abbensetts, MD, FACS, Associate Professor of Surgery at Boston University School of Medicine, is a graduate of Long Island University’s Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy in Brooklyn, NY and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, NY. Dr. Abbensetts completed his residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and fellowships at University of Connecticut School of Medicine Farmington, CT (Surgical Critical Care) and Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT (Trauma Surgery). His professional interests include complex wound management and surgical education.
Why did you go into trauma/acute care surgery?
I wanted to have an impact on lessening the pain and suffering caused by the acute illness and the disease of trauma.
