Katherine Mandell, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Surgery at Boston University School of Medicine is a graduate of the University of Chicago and Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Mandell completed her postgraduate training at the University of Washington and Affiliated Hospitals, including fellowships in Trauma and Critical Care and Trauma and Burns at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA.
Why did you go into trauma surgery?
Trauma surgery allows me the opportunity to care for a wide variety of patients and illness both surgically and medically. In addition to helping patients and families at times of critical illness it also affords the opportunity to work on preventing such things from happening in the first place.
