Providing hospitality is an important responsibility for all volunteer assignments in adult and pediatric patient care areas. However, there are additional positions specifically geared to making patients feel welcome.
How You Can Help
• Escort patients, visitors and families from main hospital entrances to inpatient units, outpatient clinics and emergency areas, as BMC Guides. Use foreign language skills with patients who speak little English.
• Work as receptionists in the Project Trust community-based HIV/AIDS prevention program.
• Act as Patient Greeters and Advocates in the Emergency areas in in Behavioral Health.
