BMC aims to provide accessible, individualized, and comprehensive gender-affirming care for our patients. We perform a wide range of gender-affirming surgeries, including:
- Orchiectomy, in which the testicles are removed from the scrotum
- Neovaginoplasty, in which the skin of the penis is used to create a new vagina
- Genital remodeling, in which surgeons create external female genitalia but not a vaginal cavity
- Breast augmentation, in which breast implants are used to improve breast shape and volume
- Chest reconstruction, in which breast tissue and excess chest wall skin are removed, and the nipples are repositioned
- Hysterectomy, in which the uterus and cervix are removed
Criteria for gender-affirming surgery are based on the WPATH Standards of Care 8, insurance requirements, and our surgical team.
