Campus Construction Update

Starting September 14, we’re closing the Menino building lobby entrance. This, along with the ongoing Yawkey building entrance closure, will help us bring you an even better campus experience that matches the exceptional care you've come to expect. Please enter the Menino and Yawkey buildings through the Moakley building, and make sure to leave extra time to get to your appointment. Thank you for your patience.

BMC aims to provide accessible, individualized, and comprehensive gender-affirming care for our patients. We perform a wide range of gender-affirming surgeries, including:

  • Orchiectomy, in which the testicles are removed from the scrotum
  • Neovaginoplasty, in which the skin of the penis is used to create a new vagina
  • Genital remodeling, in which surgeons create external female genitalia but not a vaginal cavity
  • Breast augmentation, in which breast implants are used to improve breast shape and volume
  • Chest reconstruction, in which breast tissue and excess chest wall skin are removed, and the nipples are repositioned
  • Hysterectomy, in which the uterus and cervix are removed

Criteria for gender-affirming surgery are based on the WPATH Standards of Care 8, insurance requirements, and our surgical team.
