Campus Construction Update

Starting September 14, we’re closing the Menino building lobby entrance. This, along with the ongoing Yawkey building entrance closure, will help us bring you an even better campus experience that matches the exceptional care you've come to expect. Please enter the Menino and Yawkey buildings through the Moakley building, and make sure to leave extra time to get to your appointment. Thank you for your patience.

Spinal injections can be used to diagnose the cause of your pain or used as treatment to reduce pain. They are usually used when other methods, such as pain medications and physical therapy, have not worked.

There are several different types of spinal injections, including:

  • Epidural: Used to treat arm and leg pain radiating from the spine, usually due to a pinched nerve
  • Facet joint: Used to treat neck pain and middle or low back pain
  • Medial branch nerve blocks: Usually used as a diagnostic injection
  • Sacroiliac joint: Used for pain caused by issues in the sacroiliac joint
  • Trigger point injection: Used for fibromyalgia, headaches, and myofascial pain syndrome
