About

Herbert T. Cohen, MD, is a board-certified nephrologist and primary care physician at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and an associate professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Cohen completed an internal medicine residency at Rush University Medical Center and nephrology fellowships at the University of Chicago and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. His laboratory addresses the molecular basis of renal cancer and renal cystic disease and offers special expertise in gene expression mechanisms and renal epithelial cell biology. Dr. Cohen is also a member of the BU-BMC Cancer Center and BU Genome Science Institute.
