Sun Y. Lee, MD, MSc, is a board-certified endocrinologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and an assistant professor of medicine in the Department of Diabetes, Nutrition & Weight Management at Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. Her clinical interests include general endocrinology, thyroid disease, iodine metabolism, and maternal thyroid disease in pregnancy. Her research interests include thyroid disease in pregnancy, iodine nutrition in pregnancy, iodine metabolism and thyroid disease, and thyroidal disrupting chemicals. She has multiple peer-reviewed publications in these areas. She was awarded NIH K23 grant in 2019 to study the effects of maternal thyroid dysfunction and exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals in pregnancy. She servers on the editorial board of Thyroid and Clinical Thyroidology for the Public, and as an ad-hoc reviewer of multiple journals. She is actively involved in professional societies including the American Thyroid Association and New England Endocrine Alliance.
