Michael H. Ieong MD is a board-certified pulmonologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC), specializing in HIV-related lung disease, critical care medicine, and pulmonology physiology testing. As well as overseeing the cardiopulmonary exercise testing program, Dr. Ieong cares for patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and the Pulmonary and Allergy clinics. He is also an assistant professor of Medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Ieong’s research focuses on HIV pathogenesis in the lung, redox cell signaling pathways, alveolar macrophage biology, and the innate immunity of the lung. He is an experienced research bronchoscopist and collaborates with a number of investigators to provide primary lung cells and lavage for study. He is a member of the Pulmonary Immunology Group and the Center for HIV/AIDS Care and Research.
