Events

We are excited to offer ways for you to participate and reflect on our commitment to normalize treatment and de-stigmatize substance use disorders. Take a look at how you can get involved, and be sure to check back as we add additional events and information.

Words Matter Pledge

Anytime

Only 1 in 10 people with a substance use disorder (SUD) receives treatment. Stigma is a key barrier. Using language that puts the person first reduces stigma by helping people with SUD get the treatment they need and promotes patient-centered care from the healthcare team. The Grayken Center for Addiction created the Words Matter Pledge as a call to action and a commitment to helping us create a stigma-free community. Take the pledge at BMC's Recovery Day on September 7th and throughout the month of September!
