About

Dr. Muratore is Chief of Pediatric Surgery at Boston Medical Center and Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University and trained in general surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, followed by pediatric surgical training at Boston Children's Hospital. He specializes in all aspects of pediatric general and thoracic surgery, and trauma and critical care for newborns through young adults. Dr. Muratore has special interest in ECMO life support and is experienced in fetal surgery. He is board certified in general surgery and pediatric surgery. “I’ve always wanted to ‘make a difference’ and chose pediatric surgery for its breadth, diversity, and the opportunity to be impactful. To me, caring for children as an academic pediatric surgeon means investigating surgical outcomes and training the next generation of surgeons while advocating for children’s health care resources. This is challenging, rewarding, and requires interdisciplinary team work, in and out of the operating room to achieve the best surgical outcomes. I am committed to leading efforts to optimize surgical quality and patient safety while assuring equity for children and families of Boston and beyond.”
