About

Dr. Standish is a family medicine doctor and researcher focused on clinical interventions to improve breastfeeding outcomes, particularly among high-risk and underserved populations in the U.S. and Latin America. Along with colleagues in Pediatrics, OB/GYN and Nursing, she is founder of the Breastfeeding Equity Center at BMC, which focuses on training, research, and clinical services for breastfeeding/chestfeeding in order to help families achieve their infant feeding goals. She has lived for many years in Nicaragua and Mexico and speak Spanish fluently. She practices breastfeeding medicine through the BMC Breastfeeding Medicine Clinic which she founded in December 2021. She also practices women's health, prenatal care, breastfeeding medicine and primary care at Manet Community Health Center.
