Lucas Pereira is a certified genetic counselor in the The Cancer Center and Amyloid Center of Boston Medical Center as well as an Instructor of Medicine at Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. Lucas is a first-generation American and college graduate, completing his Bachelor of Arts in biology at the University of Utah and his Master of Genetic Counselor Studies at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. During his graduate studies, he served on their program's advisory committee and gender affirming clinical care committee. Their clinical interests include hereditary cancer predisposition syndromes, hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis, and pharmacogenomics. His research interests include health equity for underserved patients in genetic counseling, pharmacogenomics, and cancer genetics.
