Melisa Ruiz-Gutierrez, MD, PhD, is a board-certified pediatric hematologist-oncologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and an assistant professor of Pediatrics at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. A physician-researcher, Dr. Ruiz-Gutierrez cares for children with blood disorders, including sickle cell disease (SCD), Shwachman–Diamond syndrome (SDS), and bone marrow failure. She is a member of the Center of Excellence in Sickle Cell Disease at Boston University.
