Xuejing Chen, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC), where she specializes in the medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal diseases including retinal vascular diseases, diabetic retinopathy, epiretinal membranes, macular holes, retinal detachments, macular degeneration, ocular trauma, secondary intraocular lens, posterior uveitis, and retinal dystrophies. Dr. Chen is also an assistant professor of ophthalmology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. After receiving her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine, she completed an ophthalmology residency at the Stein Eye Institute at the University of California Los Angeles and a vitreoretinal fellowship at Tufts Medical Center and the Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. Dr. Chen aims to provide patients with compassionate care using the most advanced treatments available and management plans customized to each patient’s unique situation. She has special interests in medical technology and innovations, ocular imaging, surgical outcomes, and global health, and she has over 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
