Some procedures may require a nutrition evaluation before your doctor will sign off on the procedure. In these cases, a dietitian will perform a nutritional assessment and provide education. The assessment may make sure you're getting proper nutrition for your condition or it may determine if you need to lose weight before your procedure.

If you need to lose weight prior to a procedure, the dietitian can help develop an appropriate diet and help you along the way and provide support.
