Campus Construction Update

Starting September 14, we’re closing the Menino building lobby entrance. This, along with the ongoing Yawkey building entrance closure, will help us bring you an even better campus experience that matches the exceptional care you've come to expect. Please enter the Menino and Yawkey buildings through the Moakley building, and make sure to leave extra time to get to your appointment. Thank you for your patience.

While no two people will have exactly the same experience at the Margaret M. Shea RN Adult Day Health Program, each day's schedule is filled with a number of enjoyable, therapeutic services and activities aimed at engaging the body, mind, and spirit. Participants can engage in their favorite hobbies, while also discovering new interests. And there's always room for the occasional surprise (holiday parties and birthday celebrations are a program specialty!).

The adult day health program runs from 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM Monday - Friday. Here's a quick glimpse into a "typical" day at a special place that's anything but "typical."

8:00 AM– Participants start arriving and catching up with friends.

9:00 AM– Breakfast is served! Cereals, crackers, coffee, tea, and juice are enjoyed by all.

9:45 AM– Time to greet the day with a quick group exercise.

10:00 AM– Participants have time to share what is going on in their lives and talk about things that are important to them, such as current events and praying for loved ones.

11:00 AM– Something new and fun is planned for the day! Activities include trivia, board games, arts and crafts, music, bingo, bowling, or relaxing and watching TV. Click here for a sample activities calendar.

12:00 PM– Lunchtime! Everyone enjoys a balanced and nutritious lunch, created by a licensed nutritionist. There are also options for special diets, such as vegetarians, low potassium, lactose free, and those who require foods that are easy to chew and swallow. Click here for a sample food menu.

1:00 PM– Join in a planned group activity, or simply enjoy some free time!

There's so much else happening every day at the Margaret M. Shea RN Adult Day Health Program. Between visits from community agencies, to field and shopping trips, to karaoke, the only thing that isn't on the agenda is boredom!
