Prostate disease is a general term that’s used to describe the medical conditions that affect the prostate, the small gland found only in men that opens into the urethra and sits just below the bladder that helps with the production of semen. These diseases include prostate enlargement (benign prostatic hypertrophy), inflammation of the prostate gland (prostatitis), and prostate cancer.
