Giới thiệu

Ron Medzon, MD, is the Medical Director of the Alan D. Solomont & Susan Lewis Solomont Clinical Simulation & Nursing Education Center and an attending physician in the Emergency Department at Boston Medical Center. He is a Clinical Professor and an Assistant Dean of Admissions at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.

Dr. Medzon graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Boston City Hospital.  He started the Emergency Medicine Residency simulation program and was a founding Co-Director of the Solomont Simulation Center. The Center serves the entire staff of Boston Medical Center, focusing on improving interprofessional communications to support the mission to provide ever-improving quality of care and patient safety throughout the hospital. Dr. Medzon has created partnerships for the Center with the medical community at large, including Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program, and the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He has taught simulation courses both regionally and nationally at Society for Simulation in Healthcare meetings. 

Dr. Medzon’s research interests have included head and neck trauma and airway management, and currently his focus is on using simulation within the medical center to create high-performing teams — resulting in safer patient care throughout BMC. He directed a course at the medical school for over 20 years, has more than 30 publications including co-editing an emergency medicine textbook, and is involved in student and resident education from the selection of future physicians to training them as outstanding physicians and community leaders of the future. He has twice been awarded the Outstanding Faculty Award in Emergency Medicine at BMC.
