BMC’s Yawkey building doors are now closed as an entrance as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our campus and provide you with the best clinical care.

All patients and visitors on our main campus must enter our hospital via Shapiro, Menino, or Moakley buildings, where they will be greeted by team members at a new centralized check-in desk before continuing to the hospital. We are excited to welcome you and appreciate your patience as we improve our facilities.

Nutrition Counseling is provided by a registered dietitian (RD). During a counseling session, the dietitian works with each client, child, and/or parents/guardians to teach healthy eating habits. Counseling is individualized based on the client’s medical, social and ethnic background. Meal plans, food label reading, recipe modification and shopping tips are also provided if needed. The RD and the patient develop goals to together that are realistic for promoting good health and wellness.

When your doctor sends the dietitian a referral, he or she will provide information to the dietitian about why counseling is needed. The dietitian has access to your medical record to provide individualized care. Dietitians are trained to review lab values, medications and procedures to provide care specific to the needs of their clients.
