About

David Center, MD is a board-certified pulmonologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC). Dr. Center is also the Gordon and Ruth Snider Chair of Pulmonary, Allergy, Sleep & Critical Care and Professor of Medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. He is a prolific researcher and directs Boston University’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute, building infrastructure for clinical trials and translational research. He frequently mentors MDs and PhDs interested in pulmonary medicine and lung research. With over 50 years of experience, his dedication to the field of pulmonology has resulted in numerous awards including the American Thoracic Society: Edward Livingston Trudeau Medal, Best of Boston: Pulmonary Physicians, Massachusetts Thoracic Society: Chadwick Medal and Best Physicians in America. Dr. Center specializes in pleural disease, immunologic lung diseases, allergy, asthma, urticaria (hives), and pulmonology diseases.
