About

Dr. Hess is the Chief of Minimally Invasive and Weight Loss Surgery and Chief of General Surgery at Boston Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Hess completed general surgery residency and a fellowship in surgical oncology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and has been in practice for more than 25 years. His expertise includes laparoscopic bariatric surgery, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, and revisional bariatric surgery. Dr. Hess is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and directs the Boston Medical Center General Surgery Residency Program.
