BMC’s Yawkey building doors are now closed as an entrance as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our campus and provide you with the best clinical care.

All patients and visitors on our main campus must enter our hospital via Shapiro, Menino, or Moakley buildings, where they will be greeted by team members at a new centralized check-in desk before continuing to the hospital. We are excited to welcome you and appreciate your patience as we improve our facilities.

About

Emily Cournoyer is a Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Neurology at Boston Medical Center, specializing in memory disorders. In her clinic, she sees patients with a broad range of cognitive and behavioral complaints including memory loss, mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia, attention deficit disorder, and various neurobehavioral disorders. Emily has previous experience working with memory disorders at Boston Center for Memory, a clinical and research site for patients with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Before she specialized in memory, Emily worked briefly as an NP in primary care. As an RN, Emily worked several years in a nursing home, which inspired her passion for caring for older adults. Emily's nursing motto has always been to care for others as she would want to be treated. She feels empathy is especially important in memory disorders, and she strives to make Patient and their caregivers feel safe and well-cared for.
