About

Tamar F. Barlam, MD, is an infectious disease specialist Chief of Infectious Diseases at Boston Medical Center. Dr. Barlam is also a professor of Infectious Disease at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Her research interests focus on understanding factors that influence antimicrobial prescribing and the implementation and impact of stewardship interventions. With more than 30 years of experience directing antimicrobial stewardship programs, Dr. Barlam serves as Chair of the National Committee on Antimicrobial Stewardship Education and Implementation.
