About

Andrew A. Wilson MD, is a board-certified pulmonologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and an expert in caring for patients with Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD), the most common heritable cause of emphysema. Dr. Wilson is also an associate professor of Pulmonary, Allergy, Sleep & Critical Care Medicine and a primary mentor of graduate students at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. His research focuses on advancing the understanding of and treatment for AATD and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Dr. Wilson is the director of the Alpha-1 Center as well as a member of Boston University’s Pulmonary Center, Center for Regenerative Medicine and Evans Center for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research.
