Dr. Cooper received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1991 and completed residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Cooper is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons’ Curriculum Committee and since 2018, has served as a member of the United Network of Organ Sharing Ethics Committee. He has published articles on the academic training of surgical residents and on ethical issues related to living donation, as well as articles focused on the clinical practice of surgery.
