Infectious Diseases Fellowship
BMC offers a two-year infectious diseases fellowship with an optional third year of research as part of the hospital epidemiology and antimicrobial stewardship track. Our program aims to produce well-rounded infectious disease practitioners with experience in microbiologic techniques, inpatient and outpatient care, and research.
Infectious Diseases and Addiction Medicine Fellowship
Our Infectious Diseases Department has partnered with the Grayken Center for Addiction to offer a three-year fellowship in infectious diseases and addiction medicine. This unique program offers one year focused on clinical infectious diseases, one year focused on addiction medicine, and a third year focused on training that combines both disciplines.
Infectious Diseases Research
The Department of Infectious Diseases at BMC houses the Infectious Disease Clinical Research Unit (ID-CRU), which facilitates innovative clinical and translational research in infectious diseases and provides comprehensive support in areas including study design, regulatory compliance, participant recruitment, and site initiation and conduct.
Additionally, the Tuberculosis Research Unit (TBRU) at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine is engaged in multicenter consortium studies, investigator-initiated local research studies, and educational efforts locally, regionally, and nationally. It is active within the Centers for Disease Control’s Tuberculosis Trials Consortium (TBTC), enrolling patients in both latent and active TB treatment trials.
