Large vessel occlusion strokes are a type of stroke where blood flow to a main artery in the brain is interrupted. It is a serious type of stroke that affects a large part of the brain. They are usually caused by blood clots that start somewhere else in the body and move to the brain.

We value our partnerships with our EMS, ER, neurology and hospitalist colleagues at primary stroke centers in identifying these patients early and providing streamlined care of these patients.
