Campus Construction Update

Vishakha Sabharwal, MBBS, is a board-certified pediatric infectious disease specialist at Boston Medical Center (BMC). Dr. Sabharwal is also a clinical associate professor of pediatrics and an associate program director of the Pediatrics Infectious Diseases Fellowship program at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. In addition to inpatient consults, Dr. Sabharwal sees patients in the International and Refugee Clinic and TB clinic. Her research includes perinatal infections especially viral infections like HCV and SARS–Cov2 transmission from mother to infant. She is a co-investigator on an NIH R01 grant that studies how to prevent and treat ear infections and ear drainage and the prevention of biofilms after ear tube placement. She has extensive experience as a clinical researcher, has participated in vaccine and drug trials, and has received funding from the Shereta Seelig Charitable Foundation Trust and the National Institutes of Health. She is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the Pediatrics Infectious Disease Society, the Medical Society of the State of Massachusetts, and the Massachusetts Infectious Disease Society.
