Nondiscrimination Policy Update

Autism Support Checklist

The Autism Friendly Initiative has launched an autism support checklist (ASC), which is a tool designed to collect information about a patient’s unique communication style, triggers, safety concerns, and de-escalation strategies.

Information from the ASC is entered into a patient’s electronic medical record (EMR) so that clinicians and staff can provide optimal support, regardless of any prior relationship with a patient.

If you, or someone you care for, are a BMC patient and would like an ASC completed, please contact us at autismfriendly@bmc.org or 617-414-3842.

For those external to BMC, we would be happy to speak with you about your team’s use of our ASC. Please be aware that our ASC is registered with the US Copyright Office.
