Social Stories

Many individuals with ASD have heightened preferences for routines and difficulties navigating unfamiliar settings. Preparing before visiting the doctor often helps reduce fears and anxieties, improving the chance of a successful visit.

The Autism Friendly Initiative’s Healthcare Social Stories website is a library of social stories about the various procedures that commonly take place during a visit to the hospital.

A wide range of social stories are available, with many more in development. Check out our healthcare social stories here!
