Epis is a Haitian seasoning mix made from peppers, fresh herbs, and spices. Use epis to season meat, fish, soups, and stews. Check out our Legume recipe for a warm and flavorful stew idea! 

Ingredients


Herbs – 1 cup (assorted fresh parsley, green onions, and thyme) Bell-Pepper – 1 small (red or green) Onion – 1 yellow or white Garlic – 6 fresh cloves Habanero_Pepper – 1-2 green or red Ground-Cloves – ½ teaspoon (optional) Limes - 1, juiced Vinegar – 1 Tablespoon white vinegar Bouillon – 1-2 packets/cubes, low sodium (optional) Oil – ¼ cup vegetable or canola oil Water – 1-2 Tablespoons

Instructions

Step 1
Roughly chop the herbs, pepper and onion, and peel the garlic.
Step 2
Add all ingredients into a blender or food process.
Step 3
Blend until a paste-like consistency. If too thick, add water 1 Tablespoon at a time.
Step 4
Pour into a jar and store in the refrigerator.
