Microwave ablation is a cancer treatment in which microwave energy is sent through a narrow, microwave antenna that has been placed inside a tumor. The microwave energy creates heat, which destroys the diseased cells and tissue. It is a newer method of treating lung cancer that can target and kill cancerous cells and relieve pain.

Nephrostomy is an open created between the kidney and the skin that lets urine drain from your kidney through a catheter.

A biopsy is when your doctor removes a small piece of tissue from an organ, muscle, or growth. Biopsies of your organs or muscles can be used for to diagnose various conditions or abnormalities, including cancers, inflammatory diseases, and more. In some cases, a biopsy may remove the entirety of the abnormal tissue.

Paracentesis is a way of removing excess fluid from the abdomen using a needle or catheter.

Radioembolization inserts radioactive beads into the artery to deliver a small dose of radiation directly to the tumor(s).

A stent is a small mesh tube that's used to treat narrow or weak arteries. 

Thoracentesis is a way of removing air or excess fluid from the space around your lungs.

Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt is a procedure where a doctor puts a stent in your portal vein to connect it to the hepatic vein in the liver.

A minimally invasive procedure that treats fibroids in the uterus which are causing heavy menstrual bleeding, pain, and pressure on the bladder or bowel. Using fluoroscopy, which is real-time x-ray, a doctor inserts medication into the uterus and fibroids that will block the arteries providing blood to the fibroids. This stops them from growing and causes them to shrink.

Vein ablation is a treatment for varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency.
