Asem Ali, MBBS is an endocrinologist in the Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition at Boston Medical Center, and an assistant professor of Medicine at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Ali is Co-director of Inpatient Diabetes Service. After completing his residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Endocrine Research
... Unit at Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN followed by an Endocrinology fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. Prior to joining Boston Medical Center, his work experience includes the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Endocrinology and Comprehensive Weight Center, director of Diabetes research at the National Guard Medical Center in Riyadh, and the Diabetes Center of Excellence at UMass Memorial Medical Center as the director of outreach programs. His interests include diabetes management (inpatient and outpatient), Cardiometabolic health and prevention of complications (obesity, diabetes, lipids, and hypertension). He is board certified in Internal Medicine as well as Endocrinology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and American Board of Clinical Lipidology.
