Campus Construction Update

Starting September 14, we’re closing the Menino building lobby entrance. This, along with the ongoing Yawkey building entrance closure, will help us bring you an even better campus experience that matches the exceptional care you've come to expect. Dr. Cooper received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1991 and completed residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Following a fellowship in transplant surgery at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, he joined the Tufts University School of Medicine faculty and the Division of Transplant Surgery at Tufts Medical Center in 2001, rising to Chief in 2016. Dr. Cooper, who also served as Director of the General Surgery Residency Program at Tufts Medical Center for 15 years, was honored with the 2021 Leonard Tow Humanism Award, given annually to one member of the Tufts Medical School teaching faculty. Dr. Cooper is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons’ Curriculum Committee and since 2018, has served as a member of the United Network of Organ Sharing Ethics Committee. He has published articles on the academic training of surgical residents and on ethical issues related to living donation, as well as articles focused on the clinical practice of surgery.
