El sarcoma es un tipo de cáncer poco común que crece en las células que conectan o sostienen otros tipos de tejido del cuerpo. Los sarcomas son más comunes en huesos, músculos, tendones, cartílagos, nervios, grasa y vasos sanguíneos de brazos y piernas. Hay más de 50 tipos diferentes de sarcoma, pero los dos más comunes son el sarcoma de tejidos blandos y el sarcoma óseo (osteosarcoma).
