Boston University Eye Associates ofrece pruebas oculares de rutina, así como una amplia gama de evaluaciones de diagnóstico y tratamientos para pacientes de todas las edades con afecciones oculares que incluyen cataratas, trastornos de la superficie ocular, glaucoma, ojo seco, retinopatía diabética y degeneración macular.  Si es necesario, los oftalmólogos realizan tratamientos quirúrgicos para las afecciones más comunes y derivan a los pacientes a especialistas si es posible que se necesiten otras pruebas o tratamientos.

Los pacientes cuyos planes de seguro requieren una remisión de su médico de atención primaria (PCP), deben llamar a su PCP antes de su visita al Departamento de Oftalmología de BMC. BMC debe tener esta derivación antes de la visita del paciente. Las citas se pueden reprogramar si es necesario. 

Pacientes tardíos

Se pueden acomodar las llegadas tardías; sin embargo, puede ser necesario reprogramar la cita según el horario del médico.

Ophthalmology Residency

The BMC ophthalmology residency aims to produce comprehensive clinical ophthalmologists who possess not only clinical knowledge and surgical skills, but also the judgement, confidence, and independence to succeed in a variety of career choices. Residents will gain experience in routine and urgent eye care cases, as well as eye surgery.

Ophthalmology Fellowships

BMC’s ophthalmology department offers two fellowships: a two-year combined research and clinical fellowship in vitreo-retinal diseases and surgery and a one-year clinical fellowship in glaucoma. The vitreo-retinal disease fellowship provides comprehensive training in both medical retina and vitreo-retinal surgery. The glaucoma fellowship provides comprehensive training in both the medical and surgical management of glaucoma.
