Kevan L. Hartshorn, MD, is a board-certified medical oncologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC). He is also an emeritus professor of medicine in the Department of Hematology & Medical Oncology, the Director of the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship program, and an on-site principal investigator (PI) for multicenter clinical trials of chemotherapy and targeted agents for various cancers at Boston University Chobanian and
... Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Hartshorn participates in cooperative clinical trials groups (NSABP, SWOG, Alliance, and AIDs Clinical Trials group) and in industry related clinical trials. After completing his training, he joined the attending staff of BMC and continues to be passionate about BMC's mission to provide exceptional care for all patients, regardless of economic or social status. He is especially interested in geriatric oncology and helped to develop a clinical fellowship in Geriatric Oncology, which has been in operation for about 10 years. Dr. Hartshorn also has a long-standing interest in health care disparities. In addition to his clinical interests, Dr. Hartshorn runs a laboratory research program that studies innate immunology which has had continuous support from the NIH for 30 years.
