Emily Hurstak, MD, MPH, is a board-certified primary care physician and addiction medicine specialist at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and an assistant professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Hurstak is also the medical director for the Grayken Center for Addiction Training and Technical Assistance's SUD Care Continuum ECHO. After receiving her medical degree, Dr. Hurstak completed an internal medicine residency and a primary care research fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. Her work and research focus on improving the understanding and care of patients with co-morbid substance use disorders and chronic pain, as well as health literacy and health communication. She is also trained in medical acupuncture.
