About Our Feeding My Family Program

Every life stage has specific nutrition needs.  Whether you are a pregnant mother, a parent, or you are feeding an infant, toddler, or multiple children at home, feeding the family can have a lot of challenges.  Our Feeding My Family program provides nutrition education and cooking classes for all family members to help build healthy habits and cooking confidence at home.

Cooking Classes:

Feeding My Family is hosted by BMC’s GROW Clinic and the Teaching Kitchen.  Our program hosts both in-person and virtual cooking classes to help participants explore new ingredients and prepare healthy meals.  Our goal is to help families prepare easy and efficient meals that can serve everyone.  The classes accommodate involvement of young children and youth to inspire them to be part of the cooking process.

Demo Classes and Discussions:

The program also hosts demo-style classes and discussion for more focused nutrition education.  Education can include the nutrition needs during and after pregnancy, nutrition during lactation, infant feeding progression, modifying food textures for infants and toddlers, how to encourage play-based feeding, ingredient exploration, and nutrition prevention for anemia.

Prenatal Focus:

This program has been made possible by the support of Dalio Philanthropies.  Many cooking classes have a prenatal focus and we welcome the participation of pregnant mothers, new mothers, lactating mothers, and parents who are feeding young infants or multiple children.
