A Story of Hope

Patricia had a major stroke in 2019. For the initial years after her stroke, she used a wheelchair to get around. She had significant weakness on her left side as a result of the stroke.

In 2022, 3 years after the event, Patricia started with intense physical therapy. Her husband, John, drove her into the city multiple times a week to receive this care. Patricia and her husband have seen drastic improvements in her ability to walk in the last 3 months. She previously was primarily using a wheelchair and now she is walking over 600 feet at a time.

Patricia and John want others to know not to give up hope after a stroke. They were told many times Patricia would not recover in the ways that she has. It takes hard work, but it is possible- even 3 years post stroke.
